Code of Conduct

This code of conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected from players, team officials, league officials, and other participants in the Welshpool Pool League. It is based on the IPA blackball pool code of conduct and adapted for the running of this league and website.

Expected Standards

  • Treat opponents, teammates, captains, referees, league officials, venue staff, and spectators with respect.
  • Act honestly, fairly, and in the spirit of the game at all times.
  • Follow league rules, competition rules, venue requirements, and reasonable directions from league officials.
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone involved in the league.

Unsporting and Unacceptable Behaviour

The following behaviour is not acceptable and may lead to disciplinary action:

  • abusive, threatening, intimidating, insulting, discriminatory, or harassing language or conduct;
  • cheating, deliberate rule breaches, falsifying information, or attempts to improperly influence results;
  • damage to venues, equipment, or league property;
  • bringing the league into disrepute through conduct at matches, league events, or on league-related communications;
  • persistent disruption of league administration, fixtures, or official processes.

Match and Venue Conduct

  • Arrive prepared to play and comply with venue rules and match procedures.
  • Accept decisions respectfully and raise disputes through the correct league channels.
  • Do not use alcohol, aggression, or confrontation as an excuse for poor behaviour.
  • Show respect for playing conditions, equipment, and the people hosting league matches.

Online and Website Conduct

  • Use league communication channels and this website responsibly.
  • Do not post or send abusive, misleading, or inappropriate content in connection with league activities.
  • Do not misuse league information, notifications, or contact details obtained through the website.

Reporting and Enforcement

Concerns about misconduct should be raised with league administrators as soon as reasonably possible. Reports may be reviewed by the appropriate league officers or committee members.

Depending on the seriousness of the issue, the Welshpool Pool League may take action including warnings, match sanctions, temporary suspension, removal of website access, or further disciplinary measures permitted by league rules.
